2011 Home Improvement Initiative

April 27th, 2011

This idea is designed to encourage home owners to complete maintenance and/or improvement projects on the outside of their home by defraying some of the cost through a rebate of up to $50 per year. It may not seem like a lot, but it could pay for your first round of fertilizer with weed controls for your lawn, your spring flowers, your seasonal mulch bought in bulk, the rental on a power washer for half a day, or a new mailbox post, just to name a few.

Homeowners wishing to participate should complete the project reimbursement application and submit it to the HOA for approval and then complete the project after receiving approval. The receipts are then sub-mitted for reimbursement (up to $50 per household). The HOA will send you a check or credit your 2012 homeowner assessment. We would like to encourage homeowners to work with their neighbors on projects like fertilization, flowers, mulch, and power washing since these services are better pur-chased in bulk and will maximize your use of the rebate.

2011 Social Event Initiative

April 27th, 2011

Although we would prefer to have volunteers for community-wide events as in the past, this idea is designed to help the less ambitious social event planners who would still like to do something small with their neighbors. Like the home improvement reimbursement, participants will need to complete the application prior to the event and be pre-approved.

The event must be attended by a minimum of 4 other households in the neighborhood to qualify for the reimbursement of up to $50 per event for supplies, rentals, etc… This could be a simple cul-de-sac barbeque, chil-dren’s birthday party, a holiday party, sporting event, dinner club, or gardening club, just to name a few. There will be a list of suggested uses on the website and the HOA will consider applications from home owners who may have already hosted qualifying events in 2011.

The goal is to promote better neighborhood bonds so as long as the event achieves this purpose than the HOA would like to help. Likewise, we would deeply appreciate it if home owners would volunteer to help organize one or two community-wide events this year. Interested?
